Robert Pattinson Parties With ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Author, Set To Play Christian Grey
Robert Pattinson has sparked speculation that he is set to take the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey, after partying with the novel’s writer, E.L. James.
Pattinson threw the film director, Nicholas Jarecki, a birthday party at his Los Feliz home, which James attended, and apparently signals that he is set to star as Christian Grey.
Other celebrities at the event included, Heather Graham, Moby, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ellen Page, with Graham even finding time to Tweet a picture of herself at the soiree. Her message read, “A fun party looking at the super moon with Moby @thelittleidiot and EL James @E_L_James.”
Rumors surrounding the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie continue to permeate after it was confirmed that Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed Nowhere Boy, would helm the project.
Michael De Luca, one of the film’s producers alongside Dana Brunetti, confirmed that she had beaten out the likes of Joe Wright and Gus Van Sant to the position.
De Luca released a statement that read, “Sam’s unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion, and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia’s relationship to life.”
He then added, “E.L. James’ characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed and Sam is a natural fit.”
Taylor-Johnson responded by stating, “For the legions of fans, I want to say that I will honor the power of Erika’s book and the characters of Christian and Anastasia. They are under my skin too.”
The likes of Kristen Stewart and Mila Kunis have been linked with the role of Anastasia, whilst Ian Somerhalder, Armie Hammer, and Channing Tatum have been linked with Christian Grey, but it would now appear that Pattinson is in pole position to take the role.
