Armie Hammer’s wife needed some convincing before taking the plunge and marrying the handsome 6’5″ actor.
Elizabeth Chambers shares the cover of Town and Country Magazine with her 26-year-old husband who is soon to grace big screens all around the world, when The Lone Ranger hits theaters next month.
Chambers tells the story of how he sat her down and talked perfect sense into her and convinced her to marry him.
“When we finally got together, Armie really wanted to get married,” Chambers, 30, told Town&Country magazine. “He sat me down and said, ‘Look, we don’t have to do this. We could just go our own ways, and then one day you’ll be 40 and divorced and we’ll run into each other, and we’ll laugh and go out to dinner and have this same connection, and we’ll wonder why we wasted all of that time. Or we could just do it now and enjoy the ride.’”
Pretty convincing. Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers got married in 2010.
Hammer also shared some insights into his rising career.
“The Winklevoss brothers’ great achievement, a big source of pride, comes from the fact that they went to Harvard. And I’m a guy who dropped out of high school.” he says of the role he played in The Social Network .
The Lone Ranger producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he was impressed with Hammer’s work ethics after suffering the dessert elements while filming the movie.
The actor is no stranger to praise , but seems to be uncomfortable talking about his acting. “I don’t like to talk about the craft of acting,” he tells Town & Country. “It’s like asking a guy who screws lug nuts for a living to talk about his technique.”
The Lone Ranger stars Armie Hammer in the titular role and Johnny Depp as Tonto and opens in theaters on July 3.
