‘Prince Avalanche’ Trailer Drops With Paul Rudd And Emile Hirsch [Video]
If you want to see Paul Rudd outside of his Anchorman getup, you’ll have the chance months before Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits theaters. Paul Rudd will be starring in Prince Avalanche alongside Emile Hirsch.
In what looks like a not-so-typical buddy comedy, Rudd and Hirsch find themselves out in the wilderness, bickering with each other about how lame they are while learning the secrets to life. Although that description sounds pretty bland, Prince Avalanche received great reviews when it made its premiere at the Sindance Film Festival.
In fact, the David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) directed comedy was on our must see list for the Tribeca Film Festival. When it premiered at Sundance, the Hollywood Reporter said of the film:
“Instead of going for the big joke, this time Green relies on subtlety and nuance to present an honest portrayal of two guys just trying to get on with life, and each other.”
The official synopsis for Prince Avalanche is as follows:
“Two highway road workers spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives. The isolated landscape becomes a place of misadventure as the men find themselves at.”
Since its debut at Sundance, Paul Rudd has been seen in a cameo in This Is the End. Along with Prince Avalanche, Rudd was also seen in another Tribeca Film Festival film alongside Paul Giamatti in All Is Bright. In addition he just finished filming Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which is currently slated for a December 20 release date.
Up next for Rudd is They Came Together, starring Cobie Smulders, and Michael Shannon, and his next film Freezing People Is Easy with Owen Wilson and Christopher Walken has entered pre-production.
Prince Avalanche is currently slated for an August 9 release date. Are you excited to see a dramatic comedy from Paul Rudd? Sound off here.
