Kanye West Proposes To Kim Kardashian [Rumor]

Has Kanye West finally proposed to Kim Kardashian in the wake of the birth of their first child? Or are the rumors just another pathetic attempt to drum up viewers for the upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians?

The rumor mill is going nuts with stories that Kanye West may have proposed that Kim Kardashian marry him after giving birth five weeks early to their highly over-publicized baby, the ridiculously named North West.

The idea itself is surprisingly plausible. She is, after all, the mother of his new baby girl. And the couple spent days together in the Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California recovering from the premature birth.

No doubt it was a great time to bond with baby and potential bride alike.

The thing is, I’ve looked into the story, and right now it’s all tracking back to a so-called exclusive from an unnamed source in the UK tabloid The Sun.

Lia Nicholls and Caroline McGuire reported that Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian within days of the birth, that she said yes, and that they’ll wed in Paris in September. That’s pretty specific information, but it’s coming from the infamous unnamed Sun sources so…hmm. It’s hard to assess just how credible this story might or might not be.

And there’s this troubling comment: “Kanye, 36, has not yet sealed the deal with an engagement ring, but he has splashed out £500,000 (over $770,000) on a rare black and tiger-stripe diamond ring.”

So are they in fact engaged or has he just bought an expensive present because the mother of his child just went through a long period of painful labor?

They even refer to the ring as a “push” present, an unappetizing name that strongly suggests the latter.

The Sun also find it evidence of love that the couple spent £100,000 (over $150,000) on the hospital costs, which they think surprising — perhaps because they’re reporting from the United Kingdom and have no clue about the costs of spending a week in an American hospital.

My verdict? Maybe Kanye proposed, and maybe he didn’t.

And maybe we’ll find out — or maybe we won’t — on the next episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
