Apple iPhone 5 Gets Huge Price Cut At Walmart, Now $129
The Apple iPhone 5 is now just $129 at Walmart. The retail giant on Saturday cut the devices price from $189, a rather steep price cut for Apple’s currently newest smartphone.
Walmart, in response to its own price cut, also pushed the iPhone 4S from $89 to just $39.
Customers wishing to take advantage of new iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S pricing must be willing to sign a new two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless.
Walmart’s new price cut arrives one day after Best Buy announced that it would give away the iPhone 5 for free to any customer willing to trade in their old iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. If the customer’s phone is worth more than the free phone pricing, Best Buy is supplementing its deal with a Best Buy gift card.
A drastic decrease in iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S pricing is a good sign that Apple is preparing to announced the iPhone 5S. Traditionally, retailers attempt to push out old iPhone stock ahead of a new release.
Recently rumored pictures of the Apple iPhone 5S have begun to appear online, stoking the flames of speculation that a new Apple device is soon to be announced. Many analysts believe the iPhone 5S and possibly a low-cost iPhone will be announced in July and begin shipping in September or October 2013.
Apple could definitely use a sales push, and the release of several new devices along with current pricing reductions wouldn’t hurt. Apple is currently suffering threw plummeting stock prices as sales have become rather stale due to the lack of a new iPhone device in nearly a one year time period.
The newest rounds of price cuts arrive just as Virgin Mobile USA has announced that it will begin selling unlocked versions of the iPhone 5.
Will you be heading out to Walmart to take advantage of better iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S pricing, or will you wait to see what the iPhone 5S offers for its customers?
