Carly Rae Jepsen Sheds Light On New Album
Carly Rae Jepsen has confirmed that she has a new album in the works. The 27-year-old became a pop sensation after releasing her hit track, “Call Me Maybe,” but fans have been waiting for another hit ever since.
The Canadian artist recently spoke with Billboard and explained that her newest album will be her “own version of pop.”
“I can kind of explain it in some ways, and in other ways I’d rather not and let myself go in and create it,” Jepsen said in her interview with Billboard. “My favorite pop artists at the moment are Robyn… Kimbra, La Roux and Dragonette. And I think I have a folky side in my blood from what I used to listen to with my parents, and it’ll be fun to incorporate of that more in the verses of the pop songs, a little something deeper to the verse.”
With a summer tour that is filled with plenty of shows, Carly Rae Jepsen has a busy schedule ahead of her as she looks to put together another hit record. She also noted in her interview that she has “three songs from the batch I’ve written on the road that I think are keepers.”
It looks like her new album already has a platform to work with, but there’s no telling how much creativity will go into her next installment. With the success of “Call Me Maybe” continuing to bring in fans, the skies are the limit for Jepsen as she embarks on a music-filled summer.
She will also be collaborating with some familiar faces as writers Ryan Stewart and Josh Ramsay from her popular “Kiss” album are set to join her once again. Jepsen went on to say that her new album will have “a lot of younger guys who are all Canadians and just really creative and have a lot going on.”
Do you think the new album will help Carly Rae Jepsen grow even more popular within the music industry after breaking the scene in 2012?
