Kordell Stewart Ordered To Pay Porsha Williams Temporary Spousal Support
Kordell Stewart has been ordered to pay temporary spousal support to his estranged wife, Porsha WIlliams.
On June 10, an Atlanta Superior Court judge ordered the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback to pay Williams $5,000 a month for the next three months. He was also ordered to either return Williams’ property or cover the cost of having her belongings placed in a storage unit. Stewart was granted exclusive use of the couple’s Atlanta home, and Williams is currently living with her mother.
The decision comes after Stewart refused to pay alimony because Williams “is an able-bodied person, earning income, and is capable of supporting herself.” He also said there were no assets to be divided because a prenup had been signed. Stewart also claimed that Williams, with whom he has no children, neglected her stepson.
Last month, Williams said that Stewart had locked her out of their martial home, and that she had to have her lawyer call his people to ask for a key that she never received. She also said that she tried to work things out with Stewart, but that he blew off a mediation session and said it was “a waste of everyone’s time.” Stewart said that he told Williams he was changing the locks days in advance, and claimed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was using to the story to “make herself more marketable in the media.”
Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from Porsha Williams on March 22, saying that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Williams didn’t find out about the divorce until two days later when she read a report online. Williams said she was disappointed because Stewart had promised that he would work on the marriage with her, but went behind her back to file for divorce. The couple were married on May 21, 2011, and their wedding was featured on WE tv’s Platinum Weddings.
Do you think $5,000 a month for three months is a fair amount for Porsha Williams? Or should Kordell Stewart have to pay more?
