Nigella Lawson has moved out of her home and into a different apartment in Mayfair, London, according to multiple reports in the United Kingdom media. On Sunday, a series of photos in the Sunday Mirror showed her husband Charles Saatchi, 70, choking the 53-year-old celebrity chef at least four times.
The very public assault on Nigella Lawson actually took place on the previous Sunday, when the couple was reportedly celebrating Saatchi birthday. However, after the photos were published, she was again photographed leaving their home with a suitcase and the help of her son from her first marriage.
The irascible art patron tried to dismiss the assault as a playful tiff. However, as public outcry grew louder, he ultimated confessed to police. As The Inquisitr previously reported :
“Although Nigella made no complaint, I volunteered to go to Charing Cross station and take a police caution after a discussion with my lawyer because I thought it was better than the alternative of this hanging over all of us for months.”
A caution is a very minor police action with almost no serious consequences that allows an individual to escape a police record.
Saatchi reportedly said that Lawson has left home “until the dust settles.”
While that may be the case, there is renewed speculation that she may never return at all .
The Sun published multiple photographs taken Tuesday of Lawson talking outside a restaurant on her cell phone.
Charles Saatchi’s second wife Kay commented to The Mirror that the art collector wasn’t physically abusive to her.
However, she won a £1 million divorce settlement from the millionaire in 2001 after an 11-year-year marriage explaining that he was already involved with Lawson and “I got sick of his bad moods.”
In those photos, she clearly isn’t wearing her wedding ring. That fuels the speculation that divorce, not just separation, is in the future for Nigella Lawson.
