With rumors rife over the Internet, it would seem that Jurassic Park 4 is going to be hitting cinema screens in 2015.
According to reports from both IGN.com and Variety.com , the fourth installment for the franchise, previously reported to be out next June, is being set-back further due to scripting issues, not to mention that the original release date had been a very tight schedule to keep to, though the official line sounded slightly different:
“[we want to give] adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise.”
There is then the issue that Steven Spielberg, who is executive producer of the film, is busy preparing for other movie releases his has lined up, such as American Sniper; however, fans will be happy to know that, despite his busy work schedule, Spielberg is currently working on the Jurassic Park 4 script with director, Colin Trevorrow .
To make the situation all the more mysterious, Universal have refused to comment on the release date, simply leaving the 2015 marker as a teaser, which undoubtedly will leave fans begging for more information.
After all, this isn’t the first time they’ve had to endure news about the film’s delay .
However, the one redeeming feature of the news is that, if all goes to plan, the film should be released during a hot year for cinema goers, with the likes of Pirates 5 and Avengers 2 being blockbuster competition; let’s just hope that Universal and Spielberg pull it off and deliver a film that will be remembered for all the right reasons.
Until that faraway date arrives, fans and critics alike will have to be satisfied with previous reports on the fourth film, most notably the script, which revealed that the film will see the franchise return to Isla Nublar; now we can all say bye to the bad memories of Isla Sorna.
Fingers crossed that Jurassic Park 4 won’t suffer even more setbacks between now and 2015.
