‘Batman: Arkham Origins’: Warner Bros. Games Montreal Says You Have Every Right To Be Skeptical
Warner Bros. Games Montreal says you have every right to be skeptical about Batman: Arkham Origins.
It had to happen. When former Batman: Arkham City developer Rocksteady handed the reigns for their newest game to Warner Bros. Games Montreal, fans grew skeptical that the game would not be like the games they had grown to love. Creative Director Eric Holmes says you have every right to be skeptical, but know that they are trying their hardest to make it feel as much like the previous two games as possible.
If anything, some of us are actually excited about Batman: Arkham Origins, but long-time fans are mostly just expecting them to screw it up. Not only is this a new developer for the series, but it’s also going back in time to before Batman had met the criminally insane inhabitants of Akham Asylum.
That’s a lot of change for a first-time entry from a new developer.
Eric Holmes told GameSpot, “I would say that people have the right to be cynical; they have the option to be cynical. Come and play the game at one of these events where we bring the game. And I think as soon as you’ve got the pad in your hand, you’re going to see that this game is authentic and uses the same underpinnings and core mechanics of the previous Arkham games.”
Warner Bros. Games Montreal Creative Director Eric Holmes invites you to come to the events where Batman: Arkham Origins is being shown off and see for yourself.
Eric Holmes adds, “And I think we have a great story … I can’t tell you to much about … but I can tell you I’m really excited about our story. I think it’s a very important Batman story and I think fans are going to love that probably more than any other thing in the game.”
Basically, Warner Bros. Games Montreal guarantees you will love this game as much as the last two, but don’t take their word for it. Try it and see.
