Man accused in Natalee Holloway murder suspected in death of Peruvian woman

22-year-old Dutch national Joran van der Sloot, who was arrested twice in connection with the presumed death of American high school student Natalee Holloway, is reportedly the prime suspect in the death of a young Peruvian woman found in a Lima hotel room this weekend.

21-year-old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez was found dead at the Miraflores Hotel Tac in Lima, her body located in a room registered under van der Sloot’s name. Police say the young Peruvian woman was beaten and stabbed shortly after being spotted with van der Sloot:

“We have an interview with a worker at the hotel who says she saw this foreigner with the victim enter his room,” Peruvian police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia told reporters today.

The woman’s father told reporters that the she was killed about 8 a.m. Sunday morning and the room was covered in blood, indicating a struggle had taken place.

Law enforcement officials believe that the suspect fled via Chile and is headed for Argentina, and an international arrest warrant has been issued. He is said to have entered Peru initially to participate in a poker tournament.

In February, van der Sloot again told press that he was involved in the death of Holloway and disposal of her body. Holloway disappeared exactly five years ago this week on a class trip to Aruba.
