Dan Stevens Cast In ‘The Guest’ A New Indie
Dan Stevens — from that, that other show that keeps getting mentioned — appears to have landed yet another role on his list of new films. This time he is starring in The Guest and indie.
Ever since moving to the US, after his abrupt exit from Downton Abbey, I had to mention it, he has kept very busy. At first, his fans were dismayed as to what he would do in the future, and some are still up in arms at his departure from the show.
But he and his agent have been hard at work in search of new and exciting projects. He has a list of films he will be appearing on. His newest one is Summer in February, a period drama in which he is caught in a love triangle. It also stars Dominic Cooper and Emily Browning and opens this Friday in the UK with no US release date announced.
Immediately after coming to the US, Dan Stevens starred in the Broadwway play The Heiress opposite Jessica Chastain. After that, he started production in the crime thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones with Liam Neeson, for which he completely changed his physical appearance.
Following that, he was cast in The Fifth Estate alongside fellow Brit and pal Benedict Cumberbatch. The film is about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Stevens will also be filming the family picture Swallows and Amazons, based on the book by the same name.
Variety reports that The Guest will be directed by Adam Wingard with a script by Simon Barrett. The film follows a family who befriend a soldier who has returned from a tour of duty but who does not appear to be all he says. According to the report, production will begin later this year.
As you see, Dan Stevens has not gone into obscurity just because he left that show. He is doing just fine. More news to come on The Guest.
