‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ E3 2013 Trailer Hits [Video]
Batman: Arkham Origins has landed its official E3 2013 trailer!
As you already know, Batman: Arkham Asylum was the beginning of some of the best-selling Batman games of all time. And for good reason! The game had fluid gameplay mechanics, you never once forgot that you were playing the role of the dark knight, and the combat system and takedowns were just topnotch. All of that, and you had more than enough reason to see it through to the … rather unusual end.
Then Batman: Arkham City came along and improved on its predecessor, and once again, the gamers loved it.
This time around, Batman: Arkham Origins takes you back in time to when Batman was just starting out and only going after the small-time criminals, simply building his reputation and giving a lot of the more famous villains a reason to exist. The story is based on the Silver Age of DC Comics, and starts you off against Deathstroke for the first time. The Black Mask has put a bounty on Batman’s head on Christmas Eve, and the dark knight has to take him down in a new, even more expansive Gotham City with multiple levels.
Don’t worry about the game being in different hands this time, as development is being headed up by the guy behind Prototype, now at Warner Bros. Games Montreal. They are planning to make this game feel every bit as much like its predecessors as they can.
The E3 2013 trailer below for Batman: Arkham Origins begins with a helicopter flying through Gotham City at night, searchlight on. A couple of men ring a giant bell sitting at the center of a sign saying “Season’s Greetings.”
The voice of the Black Mask starts in, “This city has a problem. Some freak who thinks he’s a hero. Luckily, there ain’t a problem in the world that can’t be solved with a little bit of money. Tonight we all win. One of you walks away with 50 million dollars. And the rest, well, we get rid of the Batman.”
