MegaMan has been welcomed into the Super Smash Brotherhood.
Super Smash Bros. features several classic characters (Mario, Fox McCloud, Donkey Kong, and even Pikachu are counted among the group’s ranks) and the franchise will add a few more when it makes its debut on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in 2014.
In addition to MegaMan, Super Smash Bros. will also add “The Villager” from Animal Crossing to the cast. Both characters will join the game with unique moves, stages, and a desire to beat up their video game pals.
MegaMan will use his Mega Buster in the game while The Villager will be able to “collect” weapons from other players.
Designer Masahiro Sakurai said:
“Now, MegaMan joins the battle. Maintaining the NES look was a top priority. I’m not going to have just any character from other companies join the battle but MegaMan is in a class of his own… he’s turning out to be one of the more unique characters in Smash Brothers. I hope you like him.”
