Zoe Kravitz And Penn Badgley Break Up [Report]

Zoe Kravitz and Penn Badgley have reportedly ended their nearly two-year relationship.

Multiple insiders have confirmed the split to Us Weekly. One source said “it wasn’t a sad breakup” and that everything is “good” between the former couple.

Kravitz and Badgley, who began dating in the summer of 2011 and shared an apartment together in New York City, are focusing on their careers and managing busy work schedules. Kravitz recently starred in After Earth with Will and Jaden Smith, and will be appearing in Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth install of George Miller’s Mad Max franchise. Filming for the movie began in July 2012 in Namibia, more than eighteen months late. Filming wrapped on December 17, and the movie will be converted to 3D this year for a Christmas or New Year’s release.

Badgley most recently portrayed Jeff Buckley in the Daniel Algrant-directed film Greetings from Tim Buckley. The film follows the “Hallelujah” singer’s journey as he grapples with his late father’s legacy in preparation for a performance of the elder Buckley’s songs at a tribute concert. Badgley discussed how his opinion of Buckley changed while he was working on the film.

“I think I sometimes struggled with this notion of him being such a romantic and the reality. Where we are in his life telling this story is when he was very shy and introverted, and quiet, and morose. He could melt into a wall and people would never notice he was there, but then he would have this ability to knock a room with a single utterance,” Badgley told The Inquisitr‘s Niki Cruz. ” I always battled with, “What was he really?” What’s anyone really? Sometimes I feel like he was just this ratty kid. Other times I feel like he was a God, at times I feel like he was a lover, and then I feel like he had no f–king idea what he was doing.”

A source said that the 24-year-old Kravitz and 26-year-old Badgley are “at two different stages in the careers” and “just didn’t have time for each other.” But by most accounts, the split was friendly and mutual.
