Paris Jackson is expected to be released from the hospital Friday, a little over a week after her suicide attempt.
The 15-year-old has been hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center since last weekend, but is expected to make a full recovery after cutting her wrists with a kitchen knife and swallowing painkillers last Wednesday. She was transferred to UCLA after being released from a 72-hour psychiatric hold .
A source told E! News that the teenager is doing well .
“She is doing much better. The whole experience scared the hell out of her,” the source said. “If it’s possible that there is one, then this is the silver lining that has come out of this horrible situation. She now knows she has got to concentrate on looking after herself.”
The source added that Jackson and her family “are working out how they can move forward from this,” and that there are “a lot of people around her who love her and want her to get better.”
There are conflicting reports, however, about whether or not paris Jackson will be attending her cousin Taj’s wedding this weekend. A different source told E! that Jackson “desperately” wants to be at the wedding , but another Jackson family insider told Radar Online that it “ is not expected that she will return to the family spotlight, at the wedding.”
“She and Tito’s children are very close, so I am sure it will be difficult for her not to attend,” the insider added. “But her health is the top priority for everyone, at the moment.”
Taj Jackson and his fiancee Thayana will be getting married on June 16, the same date his father Tito married Delores “Dee Dee” Martes 41 years ago. The couple divorced in 1993 and, sadly, Dee Dee Martes was found dead in a swimming pool the following. The death was initially ruled accidental, but a Los Angeles businessman was charged and found guilty of second-degree murder in 2000.
Do you think Paris Jackson should attend her cousin’s wedding? Or is it too soon?
