Transformers as a film series has seen a rocky road at best, going from an innovative film about giant alien robots that reinvented special effects as we know it, to almost staying a trilogy after multiple disappointments. Michael Bay had publicly apologized for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, due to it being a rush job, and critics ripped it apart for being aimed at children while throwing in sexual humor and drug references. In Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Megan Fox had apparently left after she had her differences with Michael Bay, paving the way for first-time actress Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

After announcing that he would not make any more Transformers films, Michael Bay has changed his mind and is apparently going for a change of approach after the third film failed to appease the critics and fans on the most part. Now Megan Fox may be part of the way they are planning to get some of the fans back.

Alongside recent photo reveals of different cars being used in Transformers 4, there was a photo posted to Instagram on Paramount’s account showing a Lamborghini being used in the film, alongside the hashtag #MeganFox. This might not have been enough to raise eyebrows, but the fact that Michael Bay had posted the same photo to Twitter earlier was enough to get people talking. Speculation has arisen from said photo, the most prevalent of which being that Megan Fox may be returning in Transformers 4. A more likely cause is Paramount Pictures using her name to get the photo noticed, or it was simply a mistake.

Either way, Paramount took down the image in question shortly after it was noticed with said hashtag, but not before an enterprising individual saved a screen grab.

Considering Megan Fox’s role in another Michael Bay film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there may have been some confusion when Paramount reposted the image to Instagram. When Nelson, the moderator of Bay’s forum chimed in with, “Someone’s in trouble. It’s gonna be a long week,” it only raised more speculation. It may be that Megan Fox will have a brief cameo in Transformers 4 and nobody was supposed to know about it.
