Walking Dead actress Shannon Guess Richardson has been arrested for allegedly sending ricin-tainted letters to both President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The actress, who played a zombie in the hit AMC series, originally told the FBI that her husband Nathaniel Richardson had sent the letters . However, authorities later determined Shannon was behind the plot.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed Richardson’s arrest with both The Wrap and The Associated Press . However, it’s unclear what charges she is currently facing.

Nathaniel’s lawyer John Delk believes the whole ordeal may have started from a recent divorce filing. Since the pregnant actress wasn’t too happy about the news, Delk believes she may have attempted to frame him for sending the letters.

“There are a lot of factors I’m aware of that indicate [Nathaniel Richardson] was set up in this deal by her,” he explained to the AP .

FBI agents were reportedly spotted heading into the Walking Dead actress’ home on Wednesday wearing hazardous material suits. Since ricin can cause respiratory failure if inhaled, authorities weren’t taking any chances when they paid Richardson a visit.

Shannon was later arrested for sending the ricin letters to President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg. It’s currently unknown if she has legal representation.

In addition to The Walking Dead , the actress has appeared in a number of television shows and movies. According to Internet Movie Database , her credits include The Vampire Diaries , The Blind Side , The Last Song , and Life As We Know It .

Shannon and Nathaniel were reportedly expecting their first child this October. The actress already has five children from other relationship. It’s currently unknown if Nathaniel will look after the children while their mom deals with her current legal situation.
