Country singer and The Voice mentor Blake Shelton released a strong-worded rant about music critic Joey Guerra’s opinion on the ousting of Holly Tucker.
Tucker was Shelton’s mentee on the talent show, but she was ultimately kicked off during this week’s episode.
In his opinion piece, Guerra wrote, “Holly Tucker is gone. It took much too long. But finally. Back to Baylor University in Waco for you, madam.”
Shelton, to put it lightly, was less than thrilled by the comment. He unleashed a Twitter rant against the critic, calling Guerra a “chicken sh*t,” and adding that the critic would never say those things to his face or to Tucker’s face either. He wrote:
“How about you @joeyguerra grow some balls and come tell me to my face how terrible some of these kids are face to face..? You won’t. Ever. You @joeyguerra are a chicken sh*t. I can’t stand a person that makes a point to write hurtful things about kids just trying their best.”
Blake Shelton then added:
“I swear to god I cant understand the mentality of a grown man ripping on young kids over and over again for just trying their hardest. Kids! How much do y’all wanna bet he’d NEVER criticize my team OR me like that face to face…. Chicken sh*t..”
While he didn’t apologize for the strong words he wrote against Guerra, Blake Shelton later wrote:
I’m sorry for going off y’all… But I am passionate about encouraging young people to follow their dreams.. We GOOD people don’t need hate.

The rant was unusual for the country star, who normally spends his social media time talking about wife Miranda Lambert , interacting with fans, and writing about his ventures. There was no response on Guerra’s Twitter account to Shelton.
Tucker, for her part, was touched by Blake Shelton’s rant against her critic. She commented , “It means the world to see Blake was there to rush to my defense. You know, he’s my coach. I’ll always think of him that way … He wants the best for us. He wants us to succeed.” Tucker added that the critics, like Guerra, are, “just fuel for my fire … it’s what keeps me going.”
Do you think Blake Shelton went too far with his Twitter rant agianst critic Joey Guerra, or was he justified to protect Holly Tucker?
To the few folks (mostly writers) upset about my rant. What he said was mean. There’s NOTHING you can say to defend or justify it. Move on..
