Lindsey Vonn Drug Tested At Fashion Show
Lindsey Vonn was pulled aside at a New York fashion show in order to undergo a mandatory drug-test in her couture gown. Overreaction? Some media outlets seem to think so.
Vonn was seemingly singled out at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards on Monday night, where she accompanied designer Cynthia Rowley. The Olympic skier was pulled aside after arriving at the Lincoln Center by representatives of the International Olympic Committee for a urine sample on the spot.
The New York Post reports that Rowley and Vonn were sitting in Alice Tully Hall with other fashion big-wigs including Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang and Anna Wintour when the skier got the call.
Drug testers were waiting for Vonn outside the center, and told her that they needed access to the event in order to perform an immediate drug test. They were ushered in by Rowley, and met Vonn at the bathroom. Rowley waited outside, not allowing anyone to enter.
After about five minutes, Vonn emerged with the sample, which was tested on the spot. Vonn passed the drug test, and the IOC staff told her to “have fun” before promptly leaving.
“Here Lindsey is in this custom-made gown, feeling like Cinderella, and she has to get up and do a drug test,” observed one source.
Though it might seem strange to you or I, Vonn seemed totally okay with it, saying that she was “having a great time” and complimenting Rowley for doing a “great job with the dress.”
Vonn is still in recovery after a serious knee injury, but says that she is doing well. “I get to start jumping and running soon, so that’s exciting,” she said.
She also talked about how boyfriend Tiger Woods is helping her with her recovery. “He’s obviously been through it so he can relate. It’s good to have a strong support system.”
Do you think that Lindsey Vonn’s impromptu drug test was unnecessary? Sound off!
