Sidney Crosby Says Penguins Just Need More Patience
NHL all-star Sidney Crosby believes the Pittsburgh Penguins just need more patience if they plan on advancing past the Eastern Conference finals.
Crosby talked to reporters following his teams Game 2 loss on Monday night and said his team fell apart after giving up an early lead to the Boston Bruins.
According to Crosby: “We got behind and tried to force things and ended up making it worse. Definitely can’t be doing that and making mistakes.”
Sidney Crosby goes on to note that the teams strategy is sound and that it’s all about executing the plan put forward. Signey reveals:
“I don’t think it’s anything to do with X’s and O’s. We just didn’t execute. That’s really what it came down to, and unfortunately we didn’t give ourselves much of a chance to win that game. We understand that. But it’s over now and we’ve got to find a way to win Game 3.”
The Boston Bruins have managed to capitalize on mistakes made by the Pittsburgh Penguins, which led Crosby to point towards the teams patience, noting, “I think we can just be a little bit more patient in our game.”
Sidney Crosby isn’t the only person on the Pittsburgh Penguins roster who believes the team needs more patience, head coach Dan Bylsma acknowledged after Monday nights game that his player “deviated from the game plan” once they fell behind on the scoreboard.
If the Penguins can get into the right mindset they could slow down their actions, think about their X’s and O’s so to speak and provide a more even level of gameplay.
Do you agree with Sidney Crosby? Do you think the Penguins can win with their current strategy if they just execute their gameplan with more level headed play?
