Obama Secret Email Accounts Slows Investigations Into Scandals
The Obama secret email account are intended to protect political appointees from “unwanted messages.”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Obama secret email accounts may fuel public suspicion of the President, who just had his approval ratings plunge due to the IRS scandal. The head of the House investigation does not point to Obama but is already claiming the IRS scandal targeting was ordered from Washington.
The Obama secret email accounts apparently “are necessary to prevent their inboxes from being overwhelmed with unwanted messages.” Federal workers are not supposed to use personal email account for anything work related so there is a clear written record of every action taken (which is how the Benghazi talking points scandal in the Obama administration was uncovered). But the Obama secret email accounts can complicate Congressional investigations like the IRS scandal, making them seem suspicious to the public.
Even the Associated Press failed to get the secret government email accounts released under the Freedom of Information Act. After waiting for months the AP was finally hit with a request to pay more than $1 million to have access to the Obama secret email accounts.
Kel McClanahan, executive director of National Security Counselors, asks how the Obama secret email accounts might be handled when people leave their jobs:
“What happens when that person doesn’t work there anymore? He leaves and someone makes a request (to review emails) in two years. Who’s going to know to search the other accounts? You would hope that agencies doing this would keep a list of aliases in a desk drawer, but you know that isn’t happening.”
Do you think the Obama secret emails should be allowed to be used by political appointees?
