The LAPD confused a Call Of Duty mannequin with being an actual armed suspect.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Call of Duty : Ghosts will be the next iteration in the popular Call of Duty series on the Xbox One . The long running series has been created by various game developer studios, one of which is Robotoki.
The LAPD confronted the Call of Duty mannequin at the entrance of Robotoki when the office’s panic alarm was triggered. The Call of Duty mannequin happened to be positioned on the second floor like sniper.
Robotoki founder Robert Bowling said he had no time to tell the LAPD the Call of Duty mannequin with the assault rifle was actually Simon “Ghost” Riley from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:
“As soon as they hit the top of the stairs, you have a direct line of sight to where ‘Ghost’ is standing at the window. You see them pause for a second looking at ‘Ghost.’ And then they go in, check it out, spend a little time in there, and clear the rest of the building. They asked me to come out, put my hands up…they detained me to make sure I’m not what they’re there for.”
Earlier reports of a swatting were apparently incorrect. The LAPD standoff with the Call of Duty mannequin started because the Robotoki employees could not ignore a new shiny red button. Robotoki had just installed a new panic button alarm system and the bored employees apparently thought it’d be fun to push the panic button. Pure accident, of course. When nothing happened immediately, the employees left the building with only Bowling and Ghost left to “guard” it.
So, yeah, not even a bullet hole in the Call of Duty mannequin as a LAPD souvenir. Who do you think “won”?
