While a lot of movies this summer will feature a ton of CGI, explosions, and big names in marvel projects, in August you can count on one project to finish out the season with something that looks like it resembles a film that’s a bit more toned down.
The movie is Closed Circuit (not the 80s robot movie), and it stars Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall. Written by Eastern Promise s writer, Steve Knight, with Boy A’s John Crowley in the director’s chair. For Closed Circuit the center of the story focuses on both Bana and Hall doubling as ex-lovers and lawyers who have to defend a terrorist case when their client is accused of setting off a bomb in downtown London.
Bana and Hall, both who are in need of a career make over, will be supported by a promising cast. There’s a few talented names that will come out of Closed Circuit , specifically Riz Ahmed, Jim Broadbent, Ciarán Hinds, and Julia Stiles.
Bana, who has had a myriad of different roles spoke about how he settles on a project, saying : “I don’t have a hard and fast plan about big or small, dark or light. I honestly don’t. I’m really open. I try to be really open, from one project to the next. The only rule I have is that I tend not to bank myself up on jobs. I don’t think you know what you’re going to be up for until you finish a job, so I don’t like the idea of knowing what my next three films are. I’d rather just shoot something, get it out of the way, and then find the next thing. ”
In terms of Closed Circuit , we’re looking forward to it. The film hits theaters on August 28.
