A mere two days after troubled country star Mindy McCready’s death by an apparent suicide , the porn company that has distribution control over her sex tape has decided to stop circulating it inasmuch as they can.
MSN reports that porn production company Vivid Entertainment has shelved distribution of McCready’s 2010 sex tape, titled “Baseball Mistress,” with no plans to resume.
Vivid boss Steve Hirsch told TMZ that DVD distribution has frozen effective immediately, and will continue indefinitely.
The sex tape features McCready and her boyfriend at the time, and was originally released by Vivid in 2010 following the country star’s spot on Celebrity Rehab . It is unknown when the footage was actually shot, but McCready discusses her alleged affair with married Major League Baseball champ Roger Clemens.
McCready never authorized the tape’s release.
Though DVD copies of McCready’s sex tape will immediately cease, online and digital distribution is harder to curb. Hirsch can’t do much about “porn tubes” and aggregators that host the video, but he did say that he’s pulling digital copies from the Vivid website immediately.
The porn studio’s movie is being called an “unexpected display of courtesy.”
We reported days ago that McCready was found dead at her home in Arkansas on Sunday of an apparent suicide. Her death follows years of personal struggles including substance abuse, child custody battles, and the death of her fiance David Wilson (also a possible suicide).
Mindy McCready was 37.
Do you think that Vivid’s decision to stop producing Mindy McCready’s sex tape was the proper, respectful call?
