Ryan Lochte Dumped: Swimmer’s Girlfriend Ends Relationship Via Phone Call [Video]

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte reportedly received less than gold medal treatment when he was dumped by his girlfriend in the latest episode of his self titled reality TV show.

On Sunday’s episode of E!’s What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, the 28-year-old Olympian received a phone call from Jaimee Hollier, with whom he had been in a four-year, long-distance relationship.

Holler, a 23-year-old junior sales manager who lives in London, was recently introduced to viewers of the TV show when she visited Lochte’s Florida home in a previous episode.

Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Lochte turned off his microphone to take the call.

“There are certain things that aren’t fair for her … I know how this conversation’s gonna go,” Lochte said of his decision to shoo the cameras away. “I didn’t want cameras there.”

After the conversation, Lochte said the relationship with Hollier was off.

“It’s over,” he told his friends in the episode. “You know, there is a small part of me where I’m reliefed [sic], because we had to end it.”

According to the New York Daily News, Lochte and Hollier’s break up wasn’t entirely unexpected.

The long distance made it difficult for the couple to see each other more than a few times a year.

“One day we’ll either go all in or we’ll say our goodbyes,” Lochte said in a previous episode. “We just haven’t made a decision yet.”

Despite receiving the heartbreaking news, Lochte remained optimistic about his future chances of finding “Mrs. Right.”

“What I really want is, I want to find that one true love that I want to spend the rest of my life with,” Lochte said. “And I just haven’t found that yet. So I’m still looking.”
