A family of four was killed in a car crash this weekend in George, Washington.
According to the Spokesman, the accident occurred near the Gorge Ampitheatere on Sunday morning.
The family’s SUV toppled over a guardrail and into a canal after crashing into a hatchback at the intersection of County Road 1 Northwest and Beverly-Burke Road. All four passengers in the vehicle were killed.
Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison identified the family as Dioselina Buenrostro, 33, Gabriel Ochoa, 35, Yesenia Ochoa, 4, and Sandra Ochoa, 9.
Grant County Sheriff’s Office said that rescue workers found the vehicle about 100 yards downstream from where the crash occurred. Both parents were pronounced dead at the scene. The two girls were taken to the hospital but were pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones said:
“In my 21 years in law enforcement, this is the most tragic, single incident I have ever been to. My heart is filled with sorrow, and I pray for peace and comfort for the surviving family members.”
Authorities do not know the cause of the crash.
Sadly, this isn’t the only fatal accident in the news today. Five teenagers were killed this weekend when their car crashed into a tree in Orange County, California.
