Katherine Webb Engaged? She Still Won’t Say

Is Katherine Webb engaged? A few days after a Twitter photo sparked rumors that the model and her football star boyfriend were engaged, she still hasn’t spoken up about whether it’s true.

Rumors of an engagement for Webb and boyfriend A.J. McCarron, starting quarterback for Alabama, started last week when Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen tweeted a photo that appeared to show an engagement ring on Katherine’s hand.

The tweet showed a group of people dining together on a plate of shrimp, but some eagle-eyed followers noticed that something new appeared on Webb’s ring finger. The photo sparked plenty of speculation and stories that Katherine Webb could be engaged.

But there are some doubters as well. Folks at College Spun seemed to think the ring on Katherine Webb’s finger is the same one she received from McCarron on Valentine’s Day. They did a bit more digging and found a picture of Webb taken the same day, showing that the ring doesn’t appear to be of the engagement variety.

Webb has been the subject of plenty of tabloid attention ever since she was identified as the girlfriend McCarron during a game this season, earning the adoration of announcer Brent Musburger. When he noticed her in the stands, Musburger gushed with praise for her good looks, leading many to think he crossed the line.

“You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women,” Musburger said, referring to Webb. “What a beautiful woman.”

The remarks caused ESPN to apologize, but the father of Katherine Webb said he understood what Murburger was trying to say.

“On one hand, you can look at it as being kind of like the dirty old man, but I’m used to this and I think if you really look into what that he was trying to say, he was trying to be complimentary, and I think they need to give Brent a break,” Alan Webb told FOX 5 Atlanta.

Since then, Webb has been a hot topic. Earlier this month the Splash contestant made headlines for a diet that involves eating only 1,200 calories a day.

When news of the intense diet reached Katherine Webb, she tweeted that these rumors were incorrect as she could never break free from her love of chocolate.

If she was willing to shoot down those rumors so quickly, false reports that Katherine Webb are engaged would likely get a response as well. So it may be safe to say as long as she’s keeping quiet, Webb probably isn’t planning a wedding anytime soon.
