Elisabeth Moss Reacts To ‘Hamm-Gate’ On ‘Watch What Happens Live’ [Video]

Actress Elisabeth Moss sat down with Andy Cohen on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live, and sounded off on her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm’s recent press woes. Namely, that they are obsessed with his junk.

During the “Plead the Fifth” segment, Cohen asked “Is it true what they say about Jon Hamm’s ham?”

Instead of balking the question, Moss proved that she can be just as plucky as her character, Peggy Olsen.

“Well, I mean, we’ve all seen the pictures so I mean I would suppose so. That’s all I know.”

Months ago, a report alleged that AMC executives had to ask Hamm, the show’s star, to start wearing underwear because his “manhood” was visible through the various period costumes he had to wear for Mad Men.

The implication was that Hamm is very well-endowed, making his visible phallus all the more distracting, and requiring heavy air-brushing for promotional images.

Hamm himself sounded off on the controversy in a March 2013 issue of Rolling Stone. Though there are definitely far worse things people can say about you in the press, Hamm was pretty offended by all of the coverage his wang was getting.

“Most of it’s tongue-in-cheek,” he said. “But it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have – a prurience….They’re called ‘privates’ for a reason. I’m wearing pants, for f**k’s sake. Lay off. I mean, it’s not like I’m a f***ing lead miner.

“There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock, I feel like that wasn’t part of the deal … But whatever. I guess it’s better than being called out for the opposite.”
