Amanda Bynes Arrested, Taken To Hospital For Psychiatric Evaluation
Amanda Bynes was arrested tonight after officers reportedly caught her throwing a bong out of the window of her 36th floor apartment.
According to NBC, the doorman at Bynes building on West 47th Street called police after he saw Bynes smoking marijuana in the lobby. Police arrived at the scene and said that they smelled marijuana coming from the actress’s apartment.
Bynes reportedly tried to destroy the evidence by throwing her drug paraphernalia out the window. It didn’t work, however, and the actress was charged with reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, and criminal possession of marjuana.
Bynes has been involved in a string of strange incidents recently, and some of her friends believe that she needs psychiatric help. The New York police officers apparently thought the same thing. The Huffington Post reports that Bynes was taken to Roosevelt Hospital after her arrest to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
The officers then took Bynes to a Midtown police station for processing. She is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
The news of Bynes’ arrest comes just a few hours after a bizarre incident at the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. Bynes, who had her license suspended recently due to several traffic infractions, tried to use a Google search as her form of identification.
Bynes wasn’t allowed on the flight but she did make it home. The stress from the day was obviously a little too much for her, however, as she reportedly sparked a joint in the lobby of her apartment building.
