Catherine Zeta-Jones Spotted In NYC Following Bipolar Treatment
Catherine Zeta-Jones was spotted out and about in New York City after returning home from Bipolar treatment.
The Entrapment star checked into a facility earlier this year to get what Michael Douglas called a “10,000 mile check-up.” Proving that she’s feeling good and ready to face the world yet again, the talented actress has returned to her daily routine.
According to E! Online, Catherine Zeta-Jones was spotted in NYC for the first time since her treatment ended. She was seen dropping her daughter off at school on Tuesday. Once the task was accomplished, Zeta-Jones drove herself home.
The actress revealed in 2011 that she suffers from Bipolar II disorder, a condition which affects millions of people. She previously received treatment for the disorder during the same year.
“If my revelation of having Bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help,” she explained at the time.
Zeta-Jones’ representative briefly discussed the actress’ decision to receive additional treatment with People earlier this year.
“Previously Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner,” Cece Yorke explained.
Husband Michael Douglas seemed positive about the time his wife recently spent inside the medical facility. He told the folks at People on Monday that Catherine was taking the necessary steps to get back on her feet. Although she checked herself in for a 30-day stay, she ultimately decided to leave early.
“She comes home tomorrow. She’s doing a really good job of getting balanced. I’m proud of her,” Douglas explained.
Now that Catherine Zeta-Jones is back in action, she will soon start making the promotional rounds for the upcoming action flick Red 2. The film will arrive in theaters on July 19.
