Emma Watson Claims She Isn’t Very Good On The Stripper Pole

Emma Watson might be a fine actress, but she claims her skills on the stripper pole leave much to be desired.

During a memorable scene in writer-director Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring, the Harry Potter alum puts her stripper pole abilities on full display. Unfortunately for those hoping to catch a peek at the actress in the buff, she performs the routine with her clothes on.

While promoting the film at the Cannes Film Festival, Emma Watson took a moment to address her skills on the pole. If you think she did a good job, then you might want to try your hand at convincing Watson.

“If you watched the film, I’m hardly a pro pole dancer. I actually look pretty bad doing it,” the actress explained at one point during the festival.

Watson said she did a lot of preparation for her role in The Bling Ring. In addition to getting some tips for her stripper pole sequence, the Perks of Being a Wallflower star said she watched a lot of reality television to better understand her real-life character.

“I watched a lot of the Kardashians, I watched a lot of Paris Hilton, I watched a lot of ‘The Hills,'” the actress said during a recent interview.

She continued, “It would be very easy for Nicki to feel like a parody, not real, and somehow I had to understand and empathize with her and that was really my biggest challenge, second to getting the accent down — it’s a very specific dialect.”

The Bling Ring, which is slated to arrive on June 14, isn’t the only movie fans can catch Watson in this summer. The busy actress will also make an appearance in directors Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s apocalyptic comedy This is the End. The film will arrive in theaters on June 12.
