Gallon Smashing: All Fun And Games Until Someone Gets Hurt [Video]

The saying goes: “It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt,” and it was illustrated perfectly by an unfortunate teen whose gallon smashing prank went terribly wrong.

For the uninitiated, “gallon smashing” is a minor viral phenomenon whereby idiot teenagers with nothing better to do go into a grocery or convenience store, amble over to the dairy aisle, grab a gallon of milk, toss it up into the air, and … well, you know the rest.

Often, these videos will showcase the gallon smasher feigning injury or asking for the help of a shopper nearby. In other videos, the gallon smasher and his or her film crew just cackle wildly and run away.

The newest video will hopefully serve as a cautionary tale to teenagers who attempt a gallon smashing prank (as if criminal charges aren’t enough to deter them). The teen gallon smasher in question grabs two jugs of milk, jogs down an aisle, raises them above his head, slams them onto the ground, and … well, you know the rest.

He slips into a wonderfully acrobatic twist, goes completely vertical, and slams on the hard grocery store floor. The moment his head jerks back is the real eye-pinching “ouch” moment.

The teen, his pride bruised more than his chin, gathers himself and makes off with his laughing accomplice, soaked in milk. The teens have some pretty heavy accents, but one four-letter word very plainly stands out, if you know what I mean.

In all seriousness, gallon smashing is incredibly stupid, and a couple of kids have already been brought up on charges. Their excuse was that of any teen unexpectedly caught by the law. “I didn’t know I could actually get in trouble for this!”
