b5media Dumps Women Bloggers

The purge at blog network b5media continues with news today that they have terminated the contracts of most, if not all bloggers writing for the women focused blog Splendicity.

Numbers aren’t clear at this stage, but it’s believed that around 15-20 bloggers have been dumped in this round.

As we reported previously, b5media is planning on firing all contracted bloggers as part of a reform process headed by former Gawker Editor Elizabeth Spiers.

In related news, despite redirecting what were supposed to be the most heavily trafficked sites at b5media, new b5media blog Crushable has so far failed to impress, both in content and traffic.

Despite the big investment and an initial launch spike, the site has slowly lost rank on Alexa, tracking a 7 day average of 16,507 and a rank yesterday of 26,960.

I give them 6 months now, although that’s probably generous.
