Holy crap, it’s Portal 2
I like to think I’m a pretty open-minded guy. I believe I’ll always be willing to listen to and debate a range of viewpoints, and take on board the opinions of others. But there is one thing that I’ll never budge on: if you didn’t like Portal, then you’re a moron with yoghurt for brains.
Sorry, but that’s the way it is. Valve’s amazing , inventive shooter is the best game I’ve played in the last five years, a note-perfect, balls-bustingly brilliant title from start to finish, and I fail to understand how anybody can’t see its ingenuity.
And now, there’s going to be a sequel. YES.
Portal 2 has long been rumored, with the odd remark passed by Valve staffers every now and again, but a new press release has now confirmed the game for really reals, dating it for this Christmas/Hanukkah/International Presents Giving Day/whatever. Valve head Gabe Newell later confirmed to Eurogamer that it was due on Xbox 360 and PC.
Wonderful news, though this does throw one question up: if you’ve finished Portal, you’ll know the now famous ending, and also how well-rounded it was. I’m fascinated about where the story heads from here.
