Benghazi is the subject of a House Oversight Committee hearing today.

In the days after the attack, officials claimed the attack had resulted from a spontaneous demonstration against an anti-Muslim film. That story was quickly refuted, although the filmmaker was arrested on a probation violation and remains in prison.”
According to Rep. Darrell Issa, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, there is “no question” that Hillary Clinton or someone in her “circle” was involved in the cover-up of administration missteps in the early days of the Benghazi consulate attack last September 11.
Four Americans were killed at the US embassy compound in Benghazi — Ambassador Christopher Stevens, embassy official Sean Smith, and security officers Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods (both former Navy SEALS) — when the Obama administration allegedly failed to send reinforcements despite pleas for help. According to diplomat Gregory Hicks, who is expected to testify on Capitol Hill today, a US Special Forces team was ready to deploy to Benghazi on a rescue and backup mission until they were inexplicably told to stand down. For months, the administration has been stonewalling congressional investigators trying to find out exactly what happened in the attack.
In a recent interview, Sean Smith’s mother Pat Smith, said that she blames former Secretary of State Clinton for what happened: “Because that’s her department. She is supposed to be on top of it. Yet she claims she knows nothing. It wasn’t told to her. Well, who is running the place?”
