Rihanna was 3 hours late to a concert in Boston, leading to some unhappy fans and accusations that the singer doesn’t have her priorities in order.
The concert in Boston was originally scheduled for March, but Rihanna had to beg out at the time as she was suffering from laryngitis. The show, from the Diamonds World Tour, was rescheduled for Monday evening.
There was no warm-up act scheduled, so fans showing up to the TD Garden waited for Rihanna to show. And waited. And waited some more, until finally Rihanna showed up 3 hours late. The 25-year-old singer was met with boos in the arena and anger on Twitter.
“Boston waited 2 months and then Rihanna was 3 hours late to her packed concert. She deserved to get booed! We were mad as hell,” one concertgoer wrote.
Rihanna didn’t say why she was 3 hours late, but some people took notice of her trip to a New York Knicks game over the weekend and suggested that her priorities weren’t in order (though a bit of a strange criticism as the game took place more than a day before the concert, and Boston is just a short jump from New York).
To the fans who waited it out, Rihanna made the 3 hour wait worth it. They said she put on an amazing concert, and many of them praised her on social media.
I take it back @ rihanna Boston loves you. #bestconcertever #BostonStrong tribute was unreal. So worth the wait.

Rihanna also tweeted after the show, but didn’t mention being 3 hours late.

Though fans may have forgiven Rihanna for showing up 3 hours late to her concert, this is not the first offense for the singer. Back in March she was scheduled to meet with students at a school that won a service contest she offered, but Rihanna got caught in Chicago traffic and was several hours late .
