‘Ender’s Game’ Teaser Trailer Contains Major Spoilers [Video]
Ender’s Game has a new teaser trailer containing major spoilers. If you haven’t read the book, this video may ruin it for you.
Ender’s Game is a difficult story to talk about without spoiling the big twist at the end, but the book has become so popular with science fiction fans that it has earned a place among the elite. Of course anything that popular is due to have a feature film made from it. After all, as the Six Million Dollar Man once put it, “We have the technology.” We can only hope that unlike George Lucas with the prequel Star Wars films, they don’t use it to nearly destroy the franchise.
The video released a few days ago was literally a trailer for the trailer, introducing us to some of the actors playing the characters in the film. The teaser itself includes an appearance by Ben Kingsley, who according to the name tag he’s wearing, shouldn’t even be seen outside flashbacks.
For the sake of those who haven’t read the Orson Scott Card book but intend to, we won’t tell you what Ben Kingsley’s name tag says or who he is. You’ll have to watch the video below.
The book itself is about Ender Wiggin, a boy whose tactical genius is discovered in the zero-gravity “battle room”, and who is made to play an increasingly difficult video game simulating war scenarios. Throughout the story, he has a hard time dealing with being taken away from his family at such a young age, and wonders why they don’t let him sleep as much as he thinks they should.
Ender’s Game is directed by Gavin Hood and stars Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas), Harrison Ford (Star Wars), Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3), Aramis Knight (The Dark Knight Rises), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Jimmy Pinchak (The Polar Express), Viola Davis, and Abigail Breslin. The film is due to hit theaters in November 2013.
