Tim Tebow Named Most Influential Athlete
Tim Tebow doesn’t currently have a job in the NFL but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t an influential athlete.
Tim Tebow, the former third string quarterback for the New York Jets former third string quarterback and current Lingerie Football League coaching prospect, was recently named the world’s most influential athlete.
Stephen Master, senior vice president of Sports for Nielsen, said: “For a backup quarterback to be talked about so much is incredible.”
Master is right. Tebow was constantly in the headlines last season despite the fact that he rarely played. In the last few weeks, Tebow has been in the news for rumors, speculation and odd job offers. A group of fans even signed a White House petition asking President Obama to find Tebow a job.
Nielsen found that 29% of people found Tebow to be an influential athlete. Outside of the NFL, Tebow frequently speaks at religious events and is a spokesman for several different brands.
