Honey Boo Boo: Mom Gets Married
Honey Boo Boo’s Mom June got married to Sugar Bear over the weekend. The couple was wed in McIntire, Georgia in a festive celebration surrounded by their friends and family.
The bride wore a black and orange camouflage patterned dress with hunter orange highlights. Sugar Bear and all the groomsmen wore simple black shirts and hunter orange vests highlighted by camouflage patterned pants and neckties.
The bridesmaids, including Honey Boo Boo, all wore pink and carried multicolor bouquets. Honey Boo Boo’s dress is quite similar to many of the dresses she wears to compete in pageants.
Guests wore casual clothing, and the atmosphere was that of a backyard barbecue at the couple’s request.
Honey Boo Boo, Mama June, and Sugar Bear have all been featured on TLC’s popular show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The show follows the family as Alana Thompson, who is nicknamed Honey Boo Boo, participates in child beauty pageants. The latest season of the show will begin airing on TLC in July. Honey Boo Boo’s mom and Sugar Bear’s wedding is expected to be broadcast as part of the new season.
Mama June and Sugar bear, whose real name is Mike Thompson, met around nine years ago in a chat room online. As reported by TMZ, the couple eventually moved in together and are the parents of Honey Boo Boo.
As reported by USA Today, 7-year-old Honey Boo Boo was the highlight of her mom’s wedding. Mama June wanted her entire family included in the ceremony and celebration. She states that the “day was very special mostly because [her] girls were able to take part in it.”
Mama June’s sister baked the wedding cake, as most of the money spent went toward making sure the geusts had a good time. June stresses that it is possible to plan a a nice wedding and stay within a budget.
Honey Boo Boo’s mom and Sugar Bear were married in their own backyard on a bright and sunny day. Although the entire family has been a source of humor and controversy for their unconventional way of life, they are happy.
