Wedding Ceremony Struck By Lightning [Video]
The heart-stopping moment that a wedding ceremony was interrupted by a huge bolt of lightning that left the party shocked.
Brian Lehrman and Holly Thronton were exchanging their vows in Key Largo, Florida, on April 5, when the heaven’s opened and lightning rained down from the sky, which was followed by thunder too.
The footage has now been uploaded to YouTube and it sees the entire wedding party screaming and hiding in terror away from the weather. It is then followed by applause from behind the camera, who are impressed by their reaction. You can watch the video below.
The Bride’s uncle, Bruce Thornton, told ABC News, “All of that happened in just one second. There was a flash, then a lightning strike and then thunder. There was a ball of flame and then an explosion, like a big boom.”
Thornton also remarked, “My brother, the father of the bride, was out there and said he felt like his legs got singed from the lightning.”
The bride and groom managed to continue with the vows, but the wedding photographer is seen running in front of the camera unsure of what to do.
Their ceremony had been ruined by the continuous rain, but the wedding party then decided to embrace the weather by jumping into a nearby swimming pool.
Thornton added about the couple, “That’s what a fun-loving couple they are, they make the best of everything.” He then added about the ceremony, “It was a wedding that we’ll never forget anyways.”
Last August a woman from Quebec drowned when taking her wedding pictures, after she struggled with the currents in a river but the dress soon became far too heavy for the woman to manage, as it wet garment became heavier.
The photographer tried to save her, but struggled because of the dress’ weight.
