Alexander Skarsgard Says He’s Not Attached To Star In ‘The Crow’
Alexander Skarsgard denied rumors that he’s attached to the Crow reboot that’s coming together at Relativity Media.
A rumor surfaced earlier this week that suggested the role of Eric Draven could wind up in the capable hands of the True Blood star. Although Deadline reported that he was a shoe-in for the role, Skarsgard revealed that he’s not involved with the project.
When the folks at MTV News asked Alexander Skarsgard if he was going to sign on for the Crow reboot, the actor revealed that he currently isn’t involved..
“No, I’m not attached to anything right now after ‘True Blood,'” the actor said. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t been approached to star in the movie. It just means nothing has been signed on the dotted line.
It’s been a strange couple of days on the Crow front. News of Alexander Skarsgard’s involvement with the project followed reports that Thor and Avengers star Tom Hiddleston was very close to landing the role.
Although The Wrap seemed to think that Loki himself was close to getting the role, apparently those reports were blown out of proportion. Despite putting together his very own makeup test, it would seem that Hiddleston is currently out of the running.
If Skarsgard doesn’t take the role of Eric Draven, then he will be just another actor in the growing list of folks who were once in consideration for the flick. Bradley Cooper and James McAvoy were also previously involved at one point or another.
For the time being, it would seem that director F. Javier Gutierrez and writer Jess Wigutow’s reboot is currently stalled at the gate. In order to make this movie successful, it definitely needs a strong lead. In this writer’s opinion, Skarsgard would be perfect for the role.
