Lindsay Lohan might be in danger of missing her rehab deadline.
The troubled starlet was reportedly on her way to Los Angeles last night to check into the Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, California. However, the facility has not been approved by prosecutors.
A source explained to TMZ that Lohan had originally agreed to check herself into the Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach, New York. The actress’ decision to board a private jet to the West Coast could mean that Lohan has had a change of heart about the choice.
Since prosecutors did not agree to the Newport Beach facility, Lindsay Lohan could be in violation of her deal with the court. Her attorneys are reportedly scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles City Attorney this morning to discuss the matter at-length.
Michael Lohan recently told CNN that his daughter had no idea Morningside Recovery hadn’t been approved by prosecutors. He added that the mix-up “wasn’t her fault” and that she was a “mess” before she boarded a plane to Los Angeles.
Lindsay’s dad, who isn’t particularly fond of his daughter’s legal representation, said he was pushing for her to check into a “luxury rehab center” in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
“The Lukens Institute is where she wanted to go all along — a place she will get the right treatment and finally get better,” Michael explained.
Although Lindsay Lohan might be violation of her court order by checking into the facility in California, the Liz & Dick star was certainly prepared for the journey. The actress recently shared a photo on Instagram that featured her surrounded by luggage and clothing.
“90 days and 270 looks,” the caption reads.
It’s currently unknown if Lohan will be permitted to check into the rehab center in Newport Beach, California. Everything now rests in the hands of her attorneys and prosecutors.
