Jason Aldean Divorce Confirmed, Singer Officially Files
Jason Aldean will divorce wife Jessica Ullery, it was confirmed, and the country singer has followed up reports of marital “troubles” with an official filing today.
Jason Aldean’s divorce filing follows a high profile cheating scandal last fall when the country star was photographed kissing American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr during a night out.
After the images hit Twitter and caused a PR disaster for Aldean, he and Ullery appeared to have decided to work past the marital trauma despite the well-documented infidelity.
The pair even appeared on CBS This Morning to discuss the issue, and Jason Aldean seemed disinclined to divorce at the time.
The Jason Aldean cheating scandal went down in October, and, by November, the country singer said that he and Ullery were making a go of staying together, explaining:
“I think we’re fine, you know? I think any time you go through anything like that, I mean, it’s tough. We’ve been together for a long time and through a lot of things together … Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn’t have the luxury of doing that.”
Last week, Jason Aldean’s rep denied a pending divorce but admitted the couple had been having “problems” recently. The rep simply stated:
“I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time. It’s a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way.”
Just days later, it was rumored Jason Aldean would divorce Ullery, and the musician confirmed the split today, saying to Us:
“This is a really tough time for my entire family. Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our No. 1 priority.”
According to the mag, the Jason Aldean divorce grounds were cited as “irreconcilable differences.”
