‘Star Trek Into Darkness’: Chris Pine Confronts Benedict Cumberbatch In Latest TV Spot [Video]
The latest Star Trek Into Darkness TV spot has Chris Pine confronting Benedict Cumberbatch.
As we know by now, Benedict Cumberbatch plays the newest Star Trek villain John Harrison, and in the latest TV spot for Star Trek Into Darkness, Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk confronts him face to face.
Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by J.J. Abrams, and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Cho and Peter Weller.
The TV spot begins with Captain Kirk walking up to what appears to be a pane of glass separating him from John Harrison. He says, “Let me explain what’s happening here.” His voice takes on a gruff tone, “You are a criminal. I watched you murder innocent men and women, and I was authorized to end you! And the only reason why you are still alive is because I am allowing it! So shut your mouth.”
John Harrison replies, “Captain, if you mean to punch me again over and over until your arm weakens, clearly you want to, so tell me, why do you allow me to live?”
Captain Kirk answers, “We all make mistakes.”
John Harrison considers the answer, “I surrender to you because, despite your attempt to convince me otherwise, you seem to have a conscience, Mister Kirk. If you did not, then it would be impossible for me to convince you of the truth. Two three, one seven, four six, one one. Coordinates not far from Earth. If you want to know why I did what I did, go take a look.”
Captain Kirk dons a look of angry disbelief, “Give me one reason why I should listen to you.”
John Harrison replies, “I can give you 72. And they’re on board your ship, Captain. They have been all along.”
