Katt Williams Sentenced To Community Service For Reckless Driving
Katt Williams was sentenced today to 428 hours of community service.
TMZ reports that the comedian was facing felony charges for evading police, but he managed to have the charges reduced to a misdemeanor. Now, instead of facing up to 9 months in prison, Williams was sentenced to 428 hours of community service.
The comedian will have to complete his community service in the next nine months.
Katt’s attorney Richard Schonfeld said: “Mr. Williams looks forward to working with the community and moving on with his life.”
Williams went through a bit of a rough period this summer. The comedian was arrested several times in the span of a week and almost decided to end his comedy career. Williams was sentenced today for leading police on a three-wheel motorcycle chase through Sacramento.
Williams said: “There was mistakes made. At some point you have to take responsibility and let everyone move on. I’m glad that this is resolved. I’m not a criminal or a drug dealer. This stuff was just coming so fast and so furious. I got arrested five times and eight days. That’s not something a law abiding citizen has to deal with. I didn’t handle it the best way.”

Williams may be facing a few hundred hours of community service, but at least he avoided jail time. The comedian also looks more calm than he did during his bizarre spree last year.
