Sofia Vergara Launches Sexy Shapewear Line For Kmart

Sofia Vergara is launching an intimate shapewear line for her existing Kmart collection, and the Modern Family star gave all the pieces a good field test — her own body.

The line is made up of nine pieces, including toning bodysuits, waist-shaping briefs, thigh slimmers, and bustiers. It’s on the affordable end as well, with prices ranging from $14.99 to $23.99.

“I’m not really a designer, but my lines are based on what I like and what I wear,” Vergara said. “We have a lot of meetings and all of the product gets tried on by me.”

Vergara promised the line of shapewear would look cute, not “like a horrible girdle.”

“My shapewear launch is very exciting and really fun for me because the colors and materials are so sexy,” she told Women’s Wear Daily.

The curvy actress is actually known more for a wardrobe malfunction at the 2012 Emmys, when her back-end popped out of a Zuhair Murad dress. So maybe Sofia Vergara is launching the shapewear Kmart line to help other women keep all their pieces in place and avoid her mistake.

The shapewear now completes the line of clothing and accessories, Sofia Vergara said. She also lends her name to fine jewelry and watches along with clothing. The new shapewear comes tested by Vergara herself.

“Usually, when I go to an event I wear shapewear.…It’s not to hold anything in, but to smooth everything out.…But I do have to wear a bra with everything,” she said.

Vergara added, “shapewear has always been a part of a woman’s wardrobe, but I wanted it to look cute, not like a horrible girdle. It’s for the everyday woman who wants to look good without spending a lot of money on shapewear, earrings or high heels that make her look cute and sexy.”

The Sofia Vergara shapewear line will be available at Kmart starting in June.
