Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s relationship is hot news wherever you look. But, while everyone else is talking about it, the couple themselves are (mostly) staying schtum.
But they are smiling. A lot.
Gomez’s surprise visit to see Bieber in Oslo, Norway on April 18 where he was playing on his Believe world tour sparked widespread speculation that the pair had reunited after they were seen kissing and cuddling backstage.
“They have a crazy connection,” a source reportedly told Us Weekly , “they just can’t seem to break their connection. It can be intense.”
That chatter increased when Bieber posted an Instagram of himself and Selena in an intimate photo last Saturday. The Canadian teen then deleted it.
Gomez, or a girl whose figure looked remarkably to the 20-year-old’s, was also spotted leaving the Grand Hotel with Bieber in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday.
Now, the Spring Breakers actress is back in the US and back to work, and she couldn’t look happier.
On Wednesday, the “Come And Get It” singer dropped by the Elvis Duran Z100 morning show in New York City. Asked about her personal life, Gomez was polite but firm.
“I think I’ve actually given enough of myself, if that makes sense,” she said .
“I feel within my music, and even how I handle myself in interviews, people think they know, but they really actually don’t… In a way, I like to keep myself a little bit private, but at the same time people do assume things.”
Later, she added: “I’m in my 20’s. I want to have fun. I want to enjoy my life and not have to worry about every single thing.”
Gomez was later snapped looking at lingerie in Victoria Secret . That same day, the beaming Latina was also mobbed by fans outside SiriusXM Studios.
Meanwhile, thousands of miles away in Stockholm, Bieber was showing his silly side.
Yesterday, the 19-year-old thrilled fans waiting outside his hotel by dancing up a storm in a red onesie (along with a onesie-dressed rapper Lil Za ), from the front entrance of the hotel to a parked tour bus.
Throughout the seemingly spontaneous dance number, a clearly happy Bieber seemed a million miles from the angry teenager seen in London back in March.
There could be any number of reasons why the singer felt he had something to celebrate. On Wednesday, after his followers on Twitter crossed the 38 million mark, Bieber tweeted:
“#38MillionBeliebers #38MillionBeliebersStrong #FAMILY thru thick and thin #PROUD and not going anywhere. Love u all & Thank u for Believing.”
He continued: “Blessed to do what I do and see the world. Thanks.”
After Bieber debuted more tattoos in the last few days — a koi carp, a tiger and an angel have now been added to his left arm — there was speculation that the ‘angel’ tattoo resembled Selena.
But while ink art appears to be Bieber’s downtime favorite, music is his priority.
After the singer tweeted that he was thinking about putting out “music journals” from the road, his manager, Scooter Braun, later clarified that tease with MTV.
“Well, I don’t ever disclose what our plans are,” said Braun, “but I will say this: he’s [Bieber’s] been writing one to two songs a day for the entire tour and he actually labels them by the city he writes them in.”
He added: “We started calling it his ‘music journal’ and we’re talking about what should come next musically. And I think creatively he just wants to share all his thoughts through music.”
Intriguingly, Braun added:
“The Oslo song, you’ll have to see. Norway was an incredibly inspirational place. So you’ll have to see.”
Despite their past struggles, Bieber and Gomez’s reported reunion appears to have brought out a more relaxed attitude in both and a return to focus on their careers.
U Smile, I Smile?
