Jennifer Lawrence Counted Among Time’s Most Influential People

Jennifer Lawrence has been included in this year’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” list presented by the folks at Time magazine.

The 22-year-old award-winning actress was listed alongside Beyonce, Jimmy Fallon, and President Obama in the publications annual list. Not only is Lawrence popular at the box office, she has managed to translate her fame into something more than just big-screen success.

Each person listed in the “Top 100” list are praised by another celebrity. Jodie Foster, who directed the actress in the 2011 drama The Beaver, had nothing but extremely positive things to say about Lawrence and her abilities.

Foster explained:

“All of those painful secrets in her face, the feeling that there’s some terrible past that’s left impossibly angled bone and weariness in its wake. She’s worn from the pain of living — something none of her characters would ever have the energy to articulate.”

She added:

“It’s just part of her, like skin and muscle. The good news is that Jen, her good-humored, ballsy, free-spirited alter ego with the husky voice and a propensity for junk food … Jen, the spritely tomboy from Kentucky — that Jen’s got it together. A hoot. A gem. A gem with a killer stare.”

Jennifer Lawrence is also set to receive accolades from her home state of Kentucky. The Hunger Games star will be honored with the Down Syndrome of Louisville’s Friendship Award next week for the friendship she struck up with Andy Strunk during her younger days.

A spokesperson for the organization explained:

“Jennifer and Andy Strunk have been friends since their middle school days. Jennifer and Andy enjoy a loyal friendship of mutual encouragement and enjoy each other’s company. They text and speak on the phone quite frequently. Their families stay in close contact and continue a friendship too.”
