‘Friends’ Reunion: The One Where A Rumor Creates Mass Hysteria
Did you hear about the Friends reunion? Rumor has it that the entire cast from the hit 90s show will be returning for an entire new season.
Unfortunately, there’s no truth to the rumor. Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel and Ross will not be moving back into their New York apartments for a Friends reunion.
The rumor started today when an unofficial image started floating around the internet today. The image shows an empty couch along with the words: “Friends: The one with the reunion – Thanksgiving 2014.”
The Huffington Post reports that the image has been circulating around the internet for nearly a year. Matthew Perry even tweeted about the image last Thanksgiving saying that there was “zero truth to the rumor.”
Blog Zap 2 It confirmed with Warner Bros., who produced Friends, that there were no plans for a reunion on the horizon.
Kevin S. Bright, a producer for the show, also downplayed the rumors last Thanksgiving when the image first started circulating around the internet.
Bright told TV Guide: “There is absolutely, 100 percent no talk about a reunion … there will be no Friends movie … It was made to be an intimate show in your living room. It wasn’t a broader show like many of the comedies today that are shot single-camera. It’s wonderful the way it is.”
There is zero truth to this rumor. but Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! RT @ebrookep1: @matthewperry Can you confirm this? twitter.com/ebrookep1/stat…

The entire cast of Friends may not be getting together anytime soon but there have been a few mini-reunions over the years. Jennifer Aniston once appeared on Courtney Cox’s Cougar Town, Cox and David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc have all appeared on Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy, and Cox recently appeared on Matthew Perry’s Go On.
Are you disappointed that there won’t be a Friends reunion?
